Layered Earth Vessel
Rising with a quiet rhythm of line and colour, this ceramic vessel reflects a studio practice shaped by years of wood firing and sustained making in India. The tall, cylindrical form is wheel-thrown with restraint, allowing the vertical grooves to remain crisp while preserving subtle variations that reveal the maker’s hand. Alternating bands of earthy clay and deep blue develop through natural glazing and extended wood firing, where ash movement and kiln atmosphere soften edges and enrich tone. Crafted in stoneware and fired patiently, the surface gains tactile depth shaped by flame and time rather than controlled finish. Intended to hold dried stems, brushes, or to stand alone as a sculptural accent, the form brings structure, warmth, and a composed vertical presence to interior spaces.
