Crater Meridian Tray and Katori Set
Part of our SAHA collection, this serving ensemble celebrates the sacred geometry of gathering and the ancient tradition of communal hosting. The expansive, circular tray acts as a physical anchor for collective memory, mirroring the traditional Indian Thali or platter of hospitality, while the sweeping, hand-wrapped cane handle brings a raw, elemental architecture to the modern tabletop.
The interior surface of the bowls is a breathtaking canvas of natural phenomena and woodfired alchemical magic. A frothy, pale seafoam glaze features an intense micro-crystalline crackle and dark iron crawling, mimicking frozen stardust or delicate lichen spreading across river stones. This textured pool is framed beautifully by deep tenmoku-brown rims that capture the exact way Casuarina wood ash settles and vitrifies at 1300°C.
To engage with this set is to embrace a slower, more intentional tempo of life. Passing this heavy, shared platter from hand to hand turns a simple culinary offering into an immersive haptic ceremony, providing a defiant, grounding pause against the rush of the modern world and strengthening the silent bonds of togetherness.
