Urban Landscape Box
Exploring containment, memory, and surface as narrative, this ceramic box transforms storage into an expressive object shaped by the drama of Raku firing. The compact, cylindrical form feels grounded and intentional, shaped slowly by hand to preserve subtle shifts in proportion and edge. Hand-drawn architectural motifs wrap around the surface like fragments of urban landscapes and passing observations, guided by a painterly sensibility where clay becomes both canvas and container. Crafted in stoneware and Raku-fired, the surface is shaped by rapid heat, smoke, and open-air cooling, resulting in crackled textures, smoky veils, and layered tonal contrasts that can never be duplicated. Designed to hold small keepsakes, jewellery, tea leaves, or personal objects, the box brings depth, tactility, and quiet visual intrigue to shelves, desks, and curated corners.
